Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life. It is more than been free from illness, it is a dynamic process of change and growth. It is one realizing of their true abilities and potential to live a healthy, gratifying, more stable and composed life. It is the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort.

Having a maximum level of wellness is very important to living a better quality life. Wellness is of great concern because everything we do and every emotion we feel is related to our wellbeing. It is therefore critical and important for every individual to achieve maximum wellness in order to subdue stress, reduce risks of illness and ensure positive interactions. All scopes of wellness are interrelated with each other and have equal roles of attaining good health. Emotional wellness involves one having a good understanding of one’s emotions and managing stress effectively. It is of significance to be attentive when it comes to self-care, reducing stress and relaxing so that one can grow from experiences. It means having the capability to know and get in terms with our emotions rather than rejecting them, have a positive approach to life and enjoy it regardless of the often disappointments. Environmental wellness gives us the inspiration to live concerning our surrounding and encourages us to live in peaceful coexistence while taking care of our environment. This leads to positive communication with our surrounding. Spiritual wellness is represented through religion, it gives one a reason in life and thus developing a set of values that guide how they live it.

Financial wellness is the ability of a person to be able to manage their finances according to their expenses and needs. Stress is majorly caused by one having money issues and the inability to settle expenses and debts. Someone having financial stabilities are at most times happy with life and satisfied compared to their counterparts.

Intellectual wellness is one’s ability of open mindness and being able to accept new ideas when approaching a situation, it also involves gaining new and more knowledge through education.

Occupational wellness enables one to achieve satisfaction and enrichment from their jobs. Social wellness gives us the ability to interact with other people and perform our roles in the society.

Physical wellness on the other hand involves having and maintaining a healthy body, it is related to seeking professional care when and if needed.
